The Heart of Urchfont since the 15th Century.
Stood Proudly at the centre of Urchfont near the picturesque town of Devizes, Wiltshire, The Lamb Inn – the village’s only public house – has been at the heart of life within Urchfont’s wonderful community for over 400 years.
Our family and dog friendly pub serves a wide range of quality food and drink, including local Wadworth ales and is Cask Marque accredited.
The Lamb Inn is run by husband and wife team Kevin and Julie May, who took the reins in November 2023.
Around The Pub
Our relaxed and informal country pub setting offers all the modern comforts whilst remaining sympathetic to the pub’s 15th century roots. Grab a cold beer or glass of wine and find a quiet nook, settle into one of our comfortable sofas, or grab a table with friends and enjoy a candlelit evening supper.
The pub is full of charming original features – with a touch of modern luxury – and our friendly local community is always happy to share a drink or a story and provide a warm welcome.
If you prefer to drink and dine al fresco, our gorgeous beer garden is the place to be when the Great British weather allows, and plays host to a number of fantastic outdoor events throughout the summer season.
The Lamb Inn’s outdoor area even has a skittle alley – whether it’s a casual game between friends or a tournament affair, you’re guaranteed hours of fun!
With free on-site parking and Urchfont’s Post Office and Community Shop located adjacent, we are very much at the heart of daily life in the village.

Post Office and Community Shop
Nestled within the grounds of The Lamb Inn is Urchfont’s post office and community shop.
Urchfont’s community shop is run by volunteers and provides a wide range of goods and services to the local community.
The shop has easy access and free parking and offers a wide range of goods, many from local suppliers including fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy products from Ashton Farm, butchery from Walter Rose of Devizes and sausages and bacon from Sandridge and Lowerfield Farms.
Fresh bread is delivered regularly and they have a wide range of products; from ice creams and frozen food to cakes and greeting cards – everything you might expect from your local village store. You can even pick up your Calor Gas and kindling, your prescription and order a regular newspaper!
